A open letter to Mr. SRK. – A brand ambassador

I saw one article on rediff titled as “Brand ambassador ho to aisa”,

I didn’t read it.

I was thinking like why do we need brand ambassador?

And what are the criteria for being brand ambassador?

For certain products, I can understand the criteria, Aishwarya rai(Bachchan L) endorsing beauty products, well why not?.

But certain Amir Khan endorsing Samsung mobile or Tata sky? Well do Mr. Amir knows about pathetic service or customer service of TATA ventures for example tata Indicom , ok that’s like comparing apple with oranges ,

I don’t have experience with TATA sky but I have very special experience with TATA indicom.

But this is not the point.. Points are many – “Can famous personality be brand ambassador”? The answer is yes but from which field? Right now, except Sachin and Dhooni( because they are loved across sections), Bollywood is ruling the industry; SRK, Amir, Amitabh, Priyanka and many more But I am also not against these actors. So there are no particular criteria except being famous. So why do we need brand ambassador? The industry needs them to market their product, most importantly publicity or may be identifying or associating the product with the personality of the person like Reid and taylor with Amitabh Bachchan or Titan with Amir Khan. These brand ambassadors may or may not be using these products themselves but they are endorsing it. Why? Because they are getting ridiculous amount of money! Well I won’t care right now if Sachin is endorsing or SRK is endorsing or Amir is endorsing certain product if I am going to buy it OR may be I not if I don’t like it. So Am I influenced by these brand ambassadors? I guess not BUT I can be impressed or I can check for brand ambassador before going for it, if I could associate myself with the brand ambassador. Here association doesn’t mean copying the person or his/her style but If certain brand ambassador asks his products maker, apart from money they getting, that they would only endorse the product if there are certain benefits for the consumers who are going the buy this on his name ? like giving 10% discount on SRK name OR improving the service of the certain items. It may be customer service or service like TATA sky! I mean they can include such clause in their agreement that if certain level of satisfaction is not reached by their customer he may end the contract while retaining the full money. I know there is money angle but how much money does SRK, or Amir or Sachin need?. They are earning good already so why there should be blind support for any product or service? Even if they demand such facilities for their fans and consumer it would only increase their appeal as a brand ambassador or as icon.

Whatever I said may not be applicable for all the persons and on all the products but my point is “There should be some responsibility on the part of brand ambassador towards consumers”

So Mr SRK, will you think about us before endorsing a product??

GIDS - a great experience

To be honest! i registered for the GIDS to escape the routine life for atleast 2 days! i expected 2 go there, have free time , good lunch and come back! i didnt expect the GIDS to such an enriching experience in term of exposure to latest trend in different technologies. Before coming here i thought i have the enough knowledge about the latest technologies in my field of jave j2ee and web but i was wrong! i got the first hand experience of very practical and latest ternd in web and java development! i am going back as a richer person in term of knowledge and experince!
